The Maple Leaf Centre for Action on Food Security Scholarship 2026 provides four scholarships to Master’s or PhD students at Canadian universities. The scholarships support research proposals aimed at advancing understanding of food insecurity in Canada, for up to two years, with a prize of $15,000 per scholarship awarded in the summer of 2026.

Eligibility

Master’s or PhD student enrolled at a Canadian university, in good academic standing, entering their second or third year and prepared to commence thesis research in 2026/2027, conducting research on food insecurity, and not having previously received the scholarship for the same degree.

Application

Submit a research proposal with CV, a letter of reference, and required outlined sections. Full proposals are submitted using a fillable form; reference letters may be sent directly by the supervisor.
