About this opportunity
The University of Michigan Society of Fellows invites applications to its three-year postdoctoral fellowship program for recent PhDs in the humanities, arts, sciences, and professions who wish to pursue research while teaching at the University of Michigan. Fellows are appointed as Assistant Professors in appropriate departments and as Postdoctoral Scholars in the Michigan Society of Fellows for three-year terms beginning August 25, 2027. The program includes a stipend and additional benefits, with an Arts Initiative pilot in the fields of Creative Writing and Film, Television, & Media for the 2027–2030 term.
Benefits & funding
Stipend of $63,000 per year, health/dental/life insurance eligibility, $3,000 in research assistance annually, and teaching responsibilities during the fellowship.
Eligibility
Applicants must have Ph.D. or comparable professional/arts degree and have completed the degree between June 1, 2024, and August 24, 2027; non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply.
