The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences 2026 aims to reward projects and activities contributing to the improvement of human life through life sciences research. The prize is funded by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and is awarded to up to three laureates, who receive a monetary prize and a certificate with an accompanying statuette. Applications are submitted through designated UNESCO authorities or partners and must align with the prize's objectives.

Benefits

Monetary prize of US $300,000, divided equally among up to three laureates, plus a certificate and an Integración Tribal statuette by a Equatorial Guinean artist.

Eligibility

Applications can only be submitted by UNESCO Member States through their National Commissions or NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO active in relevant fields.

Submit via designated UNESCO authorities or partners; after registration, complete the online application form in English or French with required background information and contribution outline. Self-nominations are not considered.
