Information

The UN OHCHR International Contest for Minority Artists 2026 is a contest inviting minority artists to submit artworks addressing the 2026 theme of War and Reconciliation. The competition recognizes multiple award categories and aims to highlight artworks across mediums such as painting, photography, sculpture, film, music, and dance. An application form collects artist information and a vision statement linking the submitted works to the theme.

Benefits

Up to eight awards total across categories, including a Main Award and a Minority Youth Artist category (reserved for artists under 35 as of 1 March 2026).

Eligibility

Artists who self-identify as belonging to national, ethnic, religious or linguistic minorities are invited to submit. Women and LGBTQI+ minority artists are particularly encouraged to apply.

Application

Submit electronic images of five works related to the theme and a vision statement through the application form; consent to public recognition is required if selected.
