Chinese Studies, Master of Arts (MA)

The Master of Arts programme in Chinese Studies is a research‑focused degree offered at the University of Würzburg in cooperation with Peking University. It provides two study tracks, Heritage and Innovation or Transformation in Contemporary China, with language training in modern Chinese, pre‑modern Chinese and Japanese. The programme is organized over four semesters, with a mandatory integrated semester at PKU and a written Master’s thesis in the final semester.

There are generally no tuition fees at the University of Würzburg, but a semester contribution of approximately 170 EUR is required for enrolment; additional costs may apply for study-related activities.

Bachelor's degree in Chinese studies or related fields, with a grade of 1.9 (German system) or better for immediate admission.
