UNESCO Regional Youth Contest for Human Rights in Eastern Africa 2026

The UNESCO Regional Youth Contest for Human Rights in Eastern Africa invites youth aged 18–35 from Eastern Africa to creatively advocate for human rights under the 2025 Human Rights Day campaign. Participants may submit essays or poems, videos or animations, and creative art to promote UNESCO’s core human rights education goals using innovative and context-relevant approaches, including digital tools and AI. Prizes include travel and accommodation to participate in a conference or UNESCO-organized event, certificates, publication opportunities, and cash awards for top entries.

Round-trip travel and accommodation to a conference or event, UNESCO certificate, publication of the entry on UNESCO sites, opportunities to present at a session, cash prizes for top entries, participation in online events.

Be a youth aged between 18–35 and be a national from any of the 13 member states covered by the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa.
