The Richard Rooney Postdoctoral Fellowship in African Studies invites applications from emerging scholars to conduct independent research at the University of Toronto’s African Studies Centre. The fellowship supports scholars in African Studies and related interdisciplinary fields, with a focus on decolonizing approaches and public scholarship. Fellows join a collaborative academic community and engage in seminars, events, and knowledge dissemination locally, in Africa, and globally, while conducting an independent research program.
Benefits
Salary $70,000 per year plus benefits; research support and affiliation with the African Studies Centre.
Eligibility
Open to domestic and international candidates who have or will have completed their PhD between June 30, 2022 and June 30, 2026, and who can start by November 1, 2026.
