The IMPRS-SPCE Doctoral Program 2026 invites doctoral students to pursue graduate studies in the social and political constitution of the economy. It is a joint PhD program with partner universities in Germany, offering a research environment at MPIfG and opportunities to study at partner institutions abroad, including potential cotutelle arrangements with Sciences Po in Paris.

Participants may contribute to the intellectual life of MPIfG and its partner universities, and there is the possibility to pursue a cotutelle de thèse with Sciences Po; the program includes a curriculum of seminars, colloquia and summer schools.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 120 ECTS in sociology, political science, economics, or a related field, and must meet admission requirements of the degree-awarding university.
