Youth Leadership for Democracy and Solidarity (YLDS) Program 2026

The Horn Center for Democracy is announcing the Youth Leadership for Democracy and Solidarity (YLDS) Program 2026, a regional leadership development initiative for young democratic leaders in the Horn of Africa. The program combines intensive leadership training, civic education, mentorship, and regional networking, with an emphasis on cross-border collaboration and long-term engagement within a regional alumni network. Selected participants join a cohort to gain practical governance skills, exchange experiences, and develop collaborative regional projects.

Participants gain leadership and governance training, mentorship, regional networking, opportunities to exchange experiences, and access to alumni engagement activities and regional project development.

Applicants should be citizens of IGAD Member States, aged 18 to 35, with leadership potential and a commitment to democratic governance, non-violent political engagement, and regional collaboration.

Submit a completed online application form, current CV (max two pages), motivation letter, any additional documents requested, and a 3-5 minute video explaining relevant work, with the video URL provided.
