About this opportunity

The Ocean Nexus International Fellowship 2026 is a three-month program for experienced journalists focused on ocean governance, environmental justice, and community-centered sustainability. Fellows will work on in-depth reporting projects, gain access to researchers and experts, and receive financial support to pursue their reporting. The program is conducted in partnership with Ocean Nexus and The Uproot Project and is open to applicants based outside the United States.

Eligibility

Applicants must be experienced journalists based outside the United States and be members of The Uproot Project as of May 15, 2026, plus belonging to one of several collaborating journalism organizations; 5-15 years of experience reporting on climate or environmental topics are required.
