NEXtra Doctoral Scholarship Programme 2027

The NEXtra Doctoral Scholarship Programme offers fully funded doctoral scholarships in Germany under the EPOS funding programme, to conduct research within the Resource Nexus for sustainability transformations. Successful candidates are enrolled in a joint doctoral programme offered by UNU and Technische Universität Dresden and supervised by UNU-FLORES and partner institutions. The programme covers doctoral research linked to the Resource Nexus, with opportunities for educational activities and policy-relevant outreach.

Fully funded doctoral research for 42 months, inclusion in a joint UNU-TUD doctoral programme, supervision by UNU-FLORES and partner institutions, and a German language course.

Applicants will pursue doctoral research in Germany on topics within the Resource Nexus for sustainability transformations and should design their research projects to promote actionable sustainability transformations and address context-specific, evidence-informed needs in their regions.
