The Africa Internship Programme

The Africa Internship Programme (AIP) provides funded, short-term placements for African postgraduate students and recent LSE graduates to gain practical experience in academic, research, policy, or creative organisations focused on Africa-related issues. Internships run for four weeks to six months and are funded to cover living costs, travel, and other essential expenses, with placements arranged in collaboration with partners across Africa and beyond.

Funding to cover living costs and travel, mentorship, professional experience, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Open to African nationals currently enrolled in Master’s or PhD programmes at LSE, and African alumni who completed a postgraduate programme at LSE within the past two years.

Applications are handled through specified host emails for each internship track (e.g., Communications and Events, Creative in Residence, Research Programme Support).
