The Capital Fellows Programs are public policy fellowships in California that place participants in the Legislative, Executive, or Judicial branches for hands-on government experience. Fellows work as full-time employees for 10-11 months, performing policy-oriented tasks and gaining exposure to state governance. The program includes multiple fellowship tracks and a comprehensive set of benefits upon completion.

Benefits

Full-time paid employment with benefits; moving allowance; six graduate units from California State University, Sacramento; student loan deferment; Graduate Certificate in Applied Policy and Government.

Eligibility

Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree by September 1 of the fellowship year and be at least 20 years old by that date; a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required; non-U.S. citizens must provide proof of appropriate immigration status; applicants must be prepared for full-time employment, Monday-Friday.
