Global Talent Ireland 2025: Call for Proposals to Attract World-Class Researchers to Ireland

Global Talent Ireland is a research initiative by Research Ireland to attract world-class researchers to relocate their research activities to eligible Irish research bodies. The programme provides substantial funding to exceptional mid-career and senior researchers to support research activities, equipment, salaries and related costs, with two funding streams based on career stage and an expected six-year award duration.

Research funding to cover expenses, startup funding for equipment and infrastructure, potential salary and relocation support through the host institution, and international collaboration opportunities.

Applicants must be currently employed outside Ireland and relocate their research activities to an eligible Irish research body. Two career-stage tracks are available: Rising Stars (mid-career) and Research Leaders (established).

Two-stage process: an Expression of Interest (EoI) due by 28 August 2025, followed by a full proposal invitation for those selected, with the full proposal submitted through SESAME, Research Ireland’s grants management system.
