NYC Summer Internship Program (SIP)

The NYC Summer Internship Program (SIP) offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience working within New York City government, with internships lasting up to 13 weeks and professional development opportunities. Internships are available across multiple city agencies and emphasize public service and skill-building. The program connects students with meaningful roles and an alumni network after completion.

Professional development sessions, civil service career guidance, and participation in an alumni network; interns contribute to public service initiatives and gain practical experience.

Graduate interns must be enrolled in a graduate or law degree program; undergraduate interns must be currently enrolled in a college or university or have graduated within one year of the current program year. Both graduate and undergraduate students are welcome unless stated otherwise in specific internship postings.

Each agency independently manages interviews and onboarding for new hires.
