African Independent Research Fellowships

The African Independent Research Fellowships (FLAIR) are postdoctoral fellowships delivered by the African Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society with support from the Global Challenges Research Fund. They aim to develop Africa’s next generation of independent research leaders by funding two years of salary and research support, with potential renewal for up to three additional years. The program includes training, mentoring, and opportunities to network regionally and with the UK to foster international collaborations.
