Information

ACLS Early Career Fellowships are awarded in two categories: Dissertation Completion Fellowships and Fellowships for Recent Doctoral Recipients. The Dissertation Completion Fellowship provides a stipend plus funds for research costs and university fees to assist humanities and related social sciences graduate students in the final year of PhD dissertation writing, with potential residence at the home institution, abroad, or another appropriate site. The program aims to encourage timely completion of the PhD.

Eligibility

PhD candidates in humanities or related social sciences in the United States, in the last year of PhD dissertation writing, with no more than six years in the degree program (awardee must be able to complete the dissertation within the fellowship period or shortly thereafter).
