About this opportunity

The Inclusive Disability Employment Fellows Program for East Africans is a professional fellowship that accepts mid-career professionals from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Fellows participate in an intensive five-week program at a university-based research and education center for disabilities in the United States and learn strategies to promote inclusive employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The program is administered by the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) in partnership with the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Humanity and Inclusion.

Eligibility

Applicants must be 25 to 40 years old, citizens or residents of Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda, able to obtain a U.S. J-1 visa, proficient in English, and have at least two years of relevant work experience with NGOs, government, universities, schools, or community organizations; must be committed to returning home for two years after completion and to implementing a project benefiting young people with disabilities.
