European Commission Translation Traineeships

The Translation Traineeships offer five months of in-house professional translation experience within the European Commission. Open to university graduates from the EU, with a completed three-year higher education degree, the programme provides a monthly grant plus allowances for meals, transport, housing and travel; a disability allowance is available as well. The application is via the European Commission Authentication Service (EU Login), with a deadline of 2026-09-04 for a traineeship starting in March 2027.

Open to all EU citizens, regardless of age, who have completed a standard three-year higher education degree and have very good knowledge of languages and translation ability into their mother tongue from two other EU official languages.
