James Dyson Award

The James Dyson Award is an international student design competition for current university students and recent graduates in engineering and design disciplines who have innovative problem-solving ideas. It offers substantial cash prizes to international and national winners and provides certificates to winners. The programme recognises exceptionally inventive design work and involves submission of project material including images and a video.

Prizes include International Winner €36,000 for the winning individual or team and €5,700 for the institution; Sustainability winner €36,000 for the winning individual or team; International and national runner-up prizes (€6,000 to the entrant or team); a certificate for all winners.

Eligible participants must have graduated within the last 4 years in engineering, product design, or industrial design; teams may participate with the team leader having studied a qualifying subject and all team members enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program within the last 4 years.

Applicants must register, demonstrate student or recent graduate status in a qualifying subject, and submit project materials (images and a video) as part of the entry.
