Bourse Ajinomoto pour Étudiants Étrangers au Japon

The Ajinomoto Foundation Scholarship is a prestige-funded program for international master's or doctoral students undertaking graduate study in Japan, focused on food, nutrition, health, and related sciences. The scholarship provides a monthly allowance and may cover tuition and admission fees in some cases, with about ten new recipients each year. Applicants must be enrolled in a Japanese university and be recommended by their supervisor, applying through their university.

Includes a monthly stipend and, in some cases, coverage of tuition and admission fees; may be combined with other funding up to the tuition fee amount.

Applicants must be nationals from Asia, Africa or South America regions, currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program at a Japanese university, under 30 years old as of 1 April 2026, and able to obtain a recommendation from their department head or supervisor; applications must be submitted via their university.

Submit via the applicant's Japanese university; documents are reviewed, followed by an interview; results announced by late June; selected candidates complete a signed commitment form.
