Information

The ADB–Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) provides postgraduate scholarships for master’s study in economics, business and management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at designated institutions in Asia and the Pacific. It is financed by the Government of Japan and administered by the Asian Development Bank, and recipients are expected to return to their home country after completion. The programme covers study at approved master’s courses with full tuition support and additional allowances.

Benefits

Full tuition fees, monthly subsistence allowance (including housing), books and instructional materials, medical insurance, travel expenses, and a special grant for thesis preparation (if applicable).

Eligibility

Applicants must be nationals of an ADB borrowing member country and a Japanese ODA scholarship-eligible country, have gained admission to an approved master’s course at a designated institution, hold a bachelor’s degree with a superior academic record, and have at least two years of full-time professional work experience after graduation; they must be proficient in English, be under 35 years old at application, be in good health, and agree to return to their home country for at least two years after completion.

Application

Request information and application forms from the chosen partner institution; submit completed documents directly to the institution; final selection is made by ADB in consultation with the Government of Japan.
