FRIAS Early Career Fellowship Programme 2027/2028

The Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) Early Career Fellowship Programme invites researchers who hold a doctoral degree and have up to eight years of post-doctoral experience to apply. Fellows work on independent research projects at the University of Freiburg, with access to the institute’s resources and networks for a period of 4 to 10 months between 1 September 2027 and 31 August 2028. The fellowship requires full-time presence at FRIAS, with a research cost contribution and travel costs funded where applicable, and offers a highly competitive selection process.

Applicants must hold a completed doctoral degree and have a maximum of eight years of post-doctoral experience, with at least six months of research or study experience outside their country of first degree.
