UFAW Animal Welfare Student Scholarships 2026

The UFAW Animal Welfare Student Scholarships provide up to £3,600 to enable students to develop their interests in animal welfare science. Scholarships support students in carrying out their own project, whether research or educational, with the aim of contributing to knowledge on animal welfare across farm animals, zoo animals, pets, animals used in research, or wildlife interactions. Projects typically last 4–8 weeks and may be carried out during July–September or at other times during the year of application.

Financial support up to £3,600 plus subsistence and project expenses to enable the proposed animal welfare project or educational activity; opportunity to develop experience in animal welfare science.

Open to undergraduate or MSc students who are interested in carrying out a project in animal welfare. Applicants must be studying at a UFAW LINK university/institute or be supervised by someone at one, and PhD students are not eligible.

An online application form is used; applicants provide student details, supervisor details, and a description of the proposed project including location and dates.
