UJALA African Scholars Program 2025

The UJALA African Scholars Program supports African scholars to lead rigorous, policy-relevant impact evaluations in agriculture. It provides a package of training, mentorship, and funding to researchers who hold a PhD and are affiliated with an academic institution, with opportunities to design and implement early-stage randomized evaluations and gain hands-on research experience.

Open to resident and non-resident African scholars conducting research aligned with UJALA’s priorities; must hold a PhD in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related empirical field.
