CWAJ Non-Japanese Graduate Scholarship

The CWAJ Non-Japanese Graduate Scholarship is a doctoral funding opportunity offered through Science Tokyo and administered by the College Women’s Association of Japan (CWAJ). It provides an annual scholarship of ¥2,000,000 to eligible non-Japanese women enrolled in a PhD program at a Japanese university, for the 2027–2028 academic year. The scholarship targets international women who are residing in Japan and who will be pursuing doctoral-level research in Japan during the specified period.

Annual funding of ¥2,000,000 to support doctoral research, including living and research costs as applicable under the scholarship guidelines.

Non-Japanese women who are non-permanent residents of Japan, residing in Japan at the time of application, and enrolled in a PhD degree program at a Japanese university for the period April 2027 to March 2028.
