The Chevening Southeast Europe British Library Fellowship is a 12-month, project-based research placement at the British Library in London. It targets midcareer librarians, information scientists, or digital humanities specialists with strong Southeast European collections experience, offering a funded residency with professional development and a research project relevant to the Southeast European holdings. The fellowship is UK government-backed and aims to enhance cataloguing, digitisation, and computational analysis of the library’s collections.

Living expenses in London for 12 months, return economy airfare, allowance for activities, up to £1,000 for project costs

Eligibility

Open to citizens or residents of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Türkiye; PhD candidates may apply if enrolled outside the UK/EU/USA; applicants should have substantial professional or academic research experience and relevant metadata/data handling skills.
