Slater Fellowship 2026/27

The Slater Fellowship 2026/27 is a fully residential three-month academic fellowship hosted by Durham University. It offers researchers time and resources to pursue a project in medieval or early modern studies, with access to Durham’s libraries and collections and opportunities to present work. The residency is conducted at Durham Castle, with a focus on integrated scholarly life within University College and IMEMS.

Fully funded board and accommodation at Durham Castle, private en-suite room, access to Durham University Library and regional collections, potential to deliver a public lecture or seminar, integration into campus life

Applicants must hold an academic position at a university outside Durham and have research interests in medieval or early modern studies; they should be prepared to participate in college and Institute life and acknowledge Durham University College and IMEMS in publications.
