University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) and Mastercard Foundation Rwanda 2027

Information

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UGHE is a fully funded scholarship for Africa’s next generation of leaders in global health. It supports the Master of Science in Global Health Delivery (MGHD) at UGHE, an 18-month program with in-person learning in Rwanda and four specialization options. The program covers major costs including tuition, living expenses, travel, insurance, and related academic support, with additional leadership development and mentorship components.

Eligibility

Applicants must be African citizens, residents, or refugees; be 35 years or younger at application (with some flexibility for persons with disabilities); hold a Bachelor’s degree; be ready to pursue full-time study for 18 months; and demonstrate passion for improving health outcomes and addressing inequities.

Application

Open window for applications (14 November 2025–18 January 2026); shortlisted candidates proceed to admissions exam and interviews, with final decisions announced in May 2026.
