Canadian Food Innovation Network Innovation Scouting Fund 2025

The Innovation Scouting Fund invites Canadian SMEs and academic researchers to apply with solutions addressing real-world business challenges identified by Canadian food manufacturers, distributors, foodservice, or grocery retail firms. The program provides funding support for the winning foodtech innovator(s) to collaborate with a notable player in the Canadian food landscape, enabling testing and validation through a pilot project. The fund supports projects with total eligible costs between 20,000 and 105,000 USD and covers up to 60% of eligible costs.

Funding to cover pilot project costs and enable testing and validation in real-world applications with a partnering firm.

Open to Canadian SMEs with at least one year of incorporation and academic researchers at Canadian institutions, proposing a technology or solution aligned with call priorities and at least TRL 3.
