The National Air and Space Museum Summer Internship Program is a structured 10-week, full-time paid internship offering firsthand experience working in a museum environment in Washington, DC. Interns work closely with museum staff across a variety of disciplines, from curatorial research to administration, and engage in professional development and enrichment activities. The program provides mentorship and opportunities to work with scholars, professionals, and museum artifacts. Internships are onsite at Museum locations.

Benefits

Eligibility

Applicants must be high school graduates and must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a degree-granting undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university.

Application

Apply through the Smithsonian Online Academic Appointment System (SOLAA); submit resume, a 500–1,000 word statement of purpose, unofficial transcript, and two letters of recommendation via SOLAA.
