Summer Research Opportunities at Harvard (SROH) is a 10-week summer research program for currently enrolled undergraduates considering PhD careers in the humanities and social sciences. For 2026, the program offers research experiences in the social sciences and humanities and placements vary by host department. Participants work with Harvard faculty in departments aligned with their research interests and live in Harvard housing during the program.

Eligibility

Currently enrolled undergraduates who have completed at least one upper-level course, have at least one semester of undergraduate study remaining, and have not received a bachelor’s degree at the time they begin the program. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Application

Applicants follow the Leadership Alliance Summer Research–Early Identification Program application; applicants are encouraged to indicate department and Harvard faculty of interest and any faculty contact.
