Code for Africa (CfA) South Africa 2026

Information

The Code for Africa Civic Graph Fellowship in South Africa 2026 offers seven part-time fellowships to support open-source civic data projects and interoperability standards. The three-month, part-time fellowships are conducted in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to map Politically Exposed Persons and Politically Influential Persons in South Africa during the municipal election period (November 2026). Fellows collect and verify data points and social media identifiers related to PEPs and PIPs, following open-source data collection standards.

Eligibility

Applicants should have proficiency with Google Sheets and formulas, fluency in English plus at least one of Afrikaans, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sepedi, Sesotho or Setswana; experience with social media data collection is preferred; analysts, technologists or university students with a civic data background are encouraged to apply; ability to adhere to open-source data standards.
