International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS) PhD Fellowships

The International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS) PhD Fellowships are fully funded doctoral positions hosted at Max Planck Institutes across Germany. The programmes cover all scientific disciplines and are interdisciplinary and internationally oriented, drawing students worldwide. Participants receive a monthly stipend or an employment contract, access to research infrastructure, mentoring and training within a cohort-based research school.

Monthly stipend (€1,365 non-taxable) or employment contract (~€1,700+ net/month), access to world-class research infrastructure, mentoring and training.

Open to PhD applicants seeking to study in Germany; African students from all 54 countries are explicitly eligible. Each IMPRS has its own application procedure and specific eligible nationalities are listed on the official application pages.
