GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize 2026

Nominations are open for the GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize 2026, a US$1 million prize recognizing exceptional teachers worldwide. The prize aims to acknowledge educators who reinvent learning, tackle local challenges, and impact lives beyond the classroom. The award is presented to a winner with the prize money paid in equal annual installments over ten years.

Open to currently working teachers who teach children in compulsory schooling or aged 5-18; includes teachers of Early Years 4+ in government-recognised curricula, part-time teachers, and teachers of online courses.
