African Investigative Journalist of the Year Award 2025

The African Investigative Journalist of the Year Award 2025 recognises outstanding investigative reporting from across Africa that reveals untold stories, holds the powerful to account, and serves the public interest. It is run by the Wits Centre for Journalism and the African Investigative Journalism Conference, with support from Absa Africa. The award can be given to a journalist or a team for a single story or a series published or broadcast in Africa in the previous year.

Monetary prize; travel and conference attendance coverage for finalists

Open to all African journalists or teams of journalists working in any media for stories from and about Africa published or broadcast in African media.
