The L’Oréal-UNESCO International Prize for Women in Science in Sub-Saharan Africa is a competition awarding fellowships to doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers. It aims to recognise scientific excellence and promote innovation across life sciences and environment, physical sciences, engineering, mathematics, and information sciences, with 30 awards distributed in Sub-Saharan Africa. The prizes include funding of €10,000 for doctoral candidates and €15,000 for post-doctoral researchers.

Eligibility

Applicants must be doctoral candidates or have earned a doctorate in the specified scientific fields, and be based in or affiliated with a research institution in Sub-Saharan Africa (countries of SSA or enrolled at a university in the region).
