Prix Équateur 2025

The Equator Prize 2025 recognizes exceptional community initiatives that demonstrate how local actions by Indigenous peoples and local communities contribute to poverty reduction, sustainable biodiversity use, and effective climate solutions. Laureates gain international visibility and resources to amplify their environmental and social impact, with submission closing on February 23, 2025. The prize is organized by the Equator Initiative under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Eligible initiatives must have existed for at least three years, be a local community group or Indigenous community operating in a rural area of a country receiving support from UNDP, and employ nature-based approaches addressing at least two Sustainable Development Goals.
