Information

The VIA e.V. Incoming programme offers year-long voluntary service placements in Germany under schemes such as FSJ, BFD and Weltwärts Sud‑Nord. Participants work 30–40 hours per week in social, ecological or cultural institutions (crèches, schools, hospitals, centres for people with disabilities) and attend 25 days of mandatory seminars. The placement includes language learning, administrative support and integration into an international volunteer community.

Monthly pocket money, accommodation and/or meal provision or allowance, health/accident/liability insurance, travel costs to seminars covered, language learning and 25 days of seminars, administrative and visa support.

Eligibility

Open to motivated young adults; typical age 18–26 for FSJ (BFD may have no upper age limit, 18–30 often prioritised). Basic German (A2 or B1) and motivation for social or ecological work are required. Candidates of all nationalities, including from Madagascar, are encouraged to apply, notably via Weltwärts Sud‑Nord.
