Narratives Against Poverty in Africa Literary Prize 2025

A multi-genre literary prize for African writers that invites prose, poetry, essays and hybrid narratives exploring themes related to poverty, hunger, injustice, climate change, corruption, pandemics, war and violence in Africa. The prize aims to discover and celebrate African writing talent across the continent and its diaspora, with winners and a book anthology to follow.

Three winners will receive cash prizes and recognition; 52 standout submissions will be compiled into a book anthology with PDF copies and paperback versions available for online order.

Open to African writers in African countries and Africans in the diaspora, ages 18 and above.

Submissions must be formatted in 12-point Times New Roman and sent as Word document attachments to the provided email; include a title, genre and author’s name, a 15-line bio and headshot in the submission.
