Information

The African Young Women Leaders (AfYWL) Fellowship Programme offers a 12-month assignment with UNDP at its HQ in New York or in regional or country offices. It aims to develop young African women leaders and experts to contribute to development programmes in the context of the SDGs and Agenda 2063. Fellows are assigned to a UNDP office under a learning and development programme and undertake responsibilities related to research, policy analysis, and project support across core impact areas.

Monthly stipend for living costs, travel expenses, medical insurance for the fellow, and an earmarked learning budget; learning and development opportunities.

Eligibility

Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree or equivalent in a development-related field, have up to two years of relevant paid experience, be fluent in English, and ideally speak an AU working language; female candidates from African Union member states are prioritized and must be available for a 12-month assignment in 2025/2026.
