The Africa Uncensored/KAS Africa Investigative Journalism Lab 2026 is a one-week advanced investigative journalism training held in Mombasa, Kenya from 4 to 8 November 2026. The programme targets mid-career and senior East African journalists and provides mentorship, hands-on training in data journalism, OSINT, digital verification, and legal/ethical frameworks, with the aim of developing publishable investigative stories. Selected participants receive residential accommodation, return travel support if based outside Mombasa, and a certificate of participation.

Eligibility

Mid-career and senior journalists with a minimum of three years of active reporting experience and demonstrated interest in investigative or accountability journalism.

Application

Submit a completed application form, a current résumé, a brief investigative story pitch (300–500 words), three samples of published work, and a letter of support from an editor or relevant referee.
