Limited Duration Theoretical Physicist (CERN-TH)

A limited-duration research position in the CERN Theoretical Physics Department (CERN-TH) for outstanding researchers in theoretical particle physics. Participants contribute to theoretical research relevant to CERN’s experimental programme, engage in departmental activities and training, and collaborate with the wider scientific community. The role is a paid position with the possibility of contract extension and eligibility for indefinite contract tenure under certain conditions.

Monthly salary (minimum net 9236 CHF), 30 days paid leave plus 2 weeks annual closure, health insurance for self/spouse/children, pension fund membership, family/child allowances, relocation package, possibility to extend contract and eligibility for indefinite tenure.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent experience in Theoretical Physics or a related field and have demonstrated post-doctoral research activities with publications. Applicants who have previously held a Staff contract at CERN are not eligible.
