The Κρατικό Πιστοποιητικό Γλωσσομάθειας (ΚΠΓ) is the official Greek state certificate of foreign language proficiency aligned with the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference. It is awarded following written and oral examinations and covers English, French, German, Italian and Spanish (A1–C2) and Turkish (B1–C2). Examinations are held twice a year and successful candidates receive a bilingual certificate with an option for a temporary success attestation until the certificate is issued. The ΚΠΓ is recognised as an additional qualification for appointment and recruitment in public sector bodies.

Eligibility
Greek citizens, citizens of the EU, compatriots (ομογενείς) and foreign nationals who legally reside in Greece may participate in the examinations.
