The NAS Award in Early Earth and Life Sciences is an NAS honor that recognizes outstanding research in the origins and evolution of life and the early development of Earth's environment. It includes the Stanley Miller Medal for work on the origin of life and/or the early Earth, and the Walcott Medal for advances in research on Cambrian or pre-Cambrian life, with a $10,000 prize accompanying each medal.</description>
