SGW Open Competitie XS 2025 – ronde 2

The SGW Open Competitie XS is a funding line for curiosity-driven, innovative research within the social sciences and humanities domain. XS grants support promising ideas and novel initiatives with project funding for short-term exploratory research. Projects may request up to €50,000 and have a minimum duration of six months and a maximum duration of twelve months. Applications are single-applicant and targeted at researchers who obtained their doctorate five to ten years prior to the call's reference date.

Research subsidy of up to €50,000 to fund a 6–12 month exploratory research project.

Researchers who obtained their PhD between 9 May 2015 and 8 May 2020 (promotiedatum op het bul is leidend) and who have a paid position for at least the duration of the application process and the proposed project may apply. An SGW-XS application has one applicant, no co-applicants; applicants may submit a maximum of one SGW-XS application in the 2025 round year and may not already have an ongoing XS project whose end date has not passed.

Applications must be submitted via the ISAAC online application and reporting system; applicants should create an ISAAC account at least one working day before the deadline.
