Information

The IISc Post-Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) is a one-year research fellowship at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, for researchers with an established record of high-quality research. The fellowship is available across multiple departments and interdisciplinary centres at IISc and may be extended for an additional year after evaluation. Overseas Citizens of India and foreign nationals are eligible to apply. Selected fellows receive a consolidated monthly fellowship, applicable HRA, and an annual research grant.

Benefits

Monthly consolidated fellowship (INR 80,000; INR 50,000 for pre-PhD awardees) plus applicable HRA and an annual research grant of INR 200,000 (not provided to pre-PhD awardees until degree is awarded).

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (or have submitted their Ph.D. thesis) with a first class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a good academic record; candidates preferably should be less than 32 years of age at the time of applying. Overseas Citizens of India and foreign nationals are eligible.

Application

Candidates must obtain a consent letter/email from a potential host faculty, then apply online using the Post-Doctoral application portal with CV, publications (2–5 PDFs), a proposed research plan (up to 500 words), consent from host faculty, PhD certificate/proof or thesis submission proof, and other relevant documents. Applications are reviewed quarterly.
