Lars Erik Lundberg Scholarship (PhD student) 2026

The Lars Erik Lundberg Scholarship for PhD students provides personal scholarship support for doctoral research within subject areas encompassed by the built environment. Scholarships are intended for doctoral students who intend to carry out research, preferably full-time, who have been offered supervision at a higher education institution and who do not have a doctoral studentship or other funding. Scholarships are awarded as monthly tax-exempt payments for up to twelve months. Generally around ten to fifteen scholarships are granted each year.

Monthly tax-exempt payments to cover living expenses and accommodation (SEK 29,500/month in 2026) for up to 12 months; typically 10–15 scholarships awarded annually.

Doctoral students conducting research within the built environment who have been offered supervision at a Swedish higher education institution, do not have a doctoral studentship and are not receiving other funding; applicants must meet the requirements of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance.
