Information

The Neuron Award for excellent young scientists is a national recognition presented to up to seven outstanding early-career researchers across fields including mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, medicine, computer science and social sciences. Laureates are selected by the scientific board of Nadace Neuron based on research results to date, contribution and promise of further research. The award is accompanied by a personal financial prize of CZK 500,000.

Eligibility

Nominations must be submitted by researchers, academics or research organisations; a scientist may not nominate themselves. Nominees must be Czech citizens or hold permanent residence in the Czech Republic, be able to communicate in Czech or Slovak, and have received their doctorate no more than ten years before the date the Neuron Awards are announced (allowing for interruptions such as parental leave or long-term illness).

Application

Nominations are submitted by researchers, academics or research organisations; self-nomination is not permitted. Laureates are decided by the scientific board of Nadace Neuron.
