Opera Prima

Opera Prima is an annual creative writing competition for students in Italy's lower and upper secondary schools. It accepts entries in multiple categories including short story, film/TV treatment, and podcast, with both individual and team participation depending on category. The programme includes teacher training events, author meetings and a final in-person award event where winners are announced. It is registered in the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit programme for the valorisation of excellence.

Open to students of scuole secondarie di primo e secondo grado (lower and upper secondary schools) in all of Italy.

Participants must upload their submitted works through an upload form on the site by the stated deadlines.
